A challenging climb but the most rewarding views. We started our ascent at 11pm and summited at 5:30am. Ol Doinyo Lengai is an active volcano with the coldest lava in the world. The mountain “Ol Doinyo Lengai” translates to “The Mountain of God” in the Masai language. A truly spectacular adventure to endure and it should be added to your bucket list. 🌋

⁣Les Amharas sont un groupe ethnique d’Éthiopie, représentant environ 27% de la population. Ils vivent principalement dans la région Amhara et parlent l’amharique, langue officielle du pays. Les Amharas sont majoritairement chrétiens orthodoxes, leur religion étant un élément essentiel de leur identité culturelle. Le système politique traditionnel des Amharas est basé sur la monarchie, avec une hiérarchie sociale complexe et des structures administratives régionales appelées « gouvernorats ». Les Amharas ont également une tradition de noblesse, les « nägädäst ».

Leur culture englobe diverses expressions artistiques, telles que la musique, la danse, la poésie et l’art religieux. Ils ont également un système d’écriture unique, le « fidel ». Les Amharas ont contribué à la promotion de l’éducation et de la littérature éthiopienne, notamment par le biais de leur langue et de leurs institutions religieuses.
